About This Tool

What It Does

Rotate any image by a fixed amount (90, 180, 270 degrees) or by a custom angle, and flip horizontally or vertically. Useful for fixing photos that came out sideways, mirroring images for design layouts, or correcting scanned documents.

Why Use This?

  • Fast. Rotation and flipping are pixel-exact operations – no quality loss for 90/180/270.
  • Custom angles let you straighten tilted photos.
  • Flip horizontally creates a mirror image, common in graphic design.
  • All client-side. Your image never leaves your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will rotating a JPG reduce quality?
Rotation by 90, 180, or 270 degrees in this tool re-encodes the image once. JPG re-encoding adds a small amount of generation loss. For perfectly lossless rotation of JPGs, use a desktop tool like jpegtran. PNG and WebP rotations are always lossless.
Why is my custom-angle rotation showing transparent corners?
When you rotate by an angle that is not a multiple of 90, the bounding box gets bigger to fit the rotated image, leaving transparent corners. PNG and WebP preserve this transparency. JPG fills it with white.
Can I straighten a slightly crooked photo?
Yes - use the custom-angle slider with small values (e.g., -3, +1.5). Combine with the cropper to remove the empty corners afterwards.
