About This Tool

What This Tool Does

Quickly change the dimensions of any image. Set custom width and height, choose from common presets (Instagram post, Facebook cover, YouTube thumbnail, etc.), and download the resized version. Aspect ratio can be locked or unlocked.

How It Works

The tool uses the browser’s native Canvas API. Your image is loaded into a canvas, redrawn at the target dimensions using high-quality bicubic-style scaling, and exported as a new file. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

Tips for Best Results

  • Downscale, don’t upscale. Reducing dimensions preserves quality.
  • Keep aspect ratio locked unless you specifically need to stretch.
  • Use PNG for graphics with text or sharp edges, JPG for photos.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will resizing reduce my image quality?
Reducing dimensions almost always preserves quality and reduces file size. Enlarging beyond the original dimensions softens the image because new pixels have to be invented by interpolation. Always resize down, never up, when quality matters.
Does the tool upload my image anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device. You can verify by disconnecting your internet - the tool still works.
What is the maximum image size supported?
Browsers can typically handle images up to about 4096x4096 pixels reliably. Very large images (50+ megapixels) may run out of memory on mobile devices. For huge files, resize in steps.
